guitar workshops

Announcing this year’s guitar workshops!

August 4-7: Campbellford, Ontario, Canada

August 15-18: Victoria-by-the-Sea, Prince Edward Island, Canada

Featuring guest co-host, from Stockholm, Sweden

JIMMY

WAHLSTEEN

The 2010 Don Ross Guitar Workshops are now ready for your reservation.

Hi there everyone!

The venue has changed for this year's workshops, as has the format.

The workshops are now during the week and both happen this summer,

so plan to arrange your vacation around attending a

Don Ross Guitar Workshop!

This year's guest co-host is the great new fingerstyle guitar voice from Sweden, JIMMY WAHLSTEEN. This wonderfully skilled Stockholm-based performer is one of the latest signings to

CandyRat Records, the label that has been so instrumental (pardon the pun) in introducing such great guitar artists as Andy McKee, Erik Mongrain, Ewan Dobson, Pino Forestiere, Antoine Dufour and a host of others to the world stage.

You can check Jimmy out on YouTube here and here.

Both of the workshops will be in the month of August.

Workshop #1

(arrival Wednesday, August 4, departure Saturday, August 7) will be hosted by the

Westben Arts Festival Theatre

in Campbellford, Ontario, a beautiful small town located between Belleville and Peterborough. Click here for a Google Map. The Westben Arts Festival is a great series that runs all summer, featuring music from all over the world, with an emphasis on jazz and classical styles. The stage is a beautifully crafted indoor/outdoor theatre, and the setting is idyllic. This workshop also starts just two days after the end of the Canadian Guitar Festival in Loughborough Lake, just 2 hours from Campbellford by car. Those of you planning to attend both events can take advantage of a 20% discount on tickets to the Canadian Guitar Festival!

Workshop #2

(arrival Sunday, August 15, departure Wednesday, August 18)

will take place in the wonderful seaside village of

Victoria-by-the-Sea, Prince Edward Island.

Victoria is about 30 minutes west of the provincial capital of Charlottetown, and only a few minutes’ drive from the famous Confederation Bridge that links PEI to mainland Canada.
